Werner Egger (Dip. Theology, Australian College of Theology (Tahlee); Dip. Christian Counselling & Family Therapy, AIFC) is a notable figure in the Australian broadcasting landscape, particularly known for his role as General Manager at Rhema 99.9 in Port Macquarie, Australia. With a career spanning nearly 20 years in Christian radio, Werner has made significant contributions to the station’s broadcasting into the community. At Rhema 99.9, he serves as a key member of the team, dedicating his efforts to broadcast content that resonates with the local Church and community through the lens of a Christian worldview and promoting Christian values. His work predominantly involves managing station operations, which includes engaging with the community to ensure the station remains a vital source of inspiration and information. Werner’s commitment to broadcasting is marked by his passion for connecting with listeners and fostering a positive impact through Christian media. Teaching the whole counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation—and examining contemporary Christian doctrine like the Bereans in Acts 17—is very important to Werner. It’s been his desire over many years to see the Body of Christ built up in a spirit of unity and live out one’s God-given priorities— all the more while eagerly awaiting Jesus’ spectacular return.
Werner has served in worship teams over many years across different denominations—from Conservative/Traditional to Pentecostal/Charismatic gatherings. He is an Elder at Lifeway Church Port Macquarie and has three adult daughters and three grandchildren.
My Story
When I think back on my journey in Christian broadcasting and ministry, I see a tapestry woven with divine encounters, moments of deep surrender, and an unwavering passion to bring people closer to Jesus. My name is Werner Egger, and for nearly two decades, I have had the privilege of serving as General Manager at Rhema 99.9 in Port Macquarie, Australia. My mission has been clear—to share the good news of Jesus through the airwaves, ensuring that our community is continually inspired, uplifted, and built-up by the message of hope.
Radio has always been more than just a platform for news and music; it is a conduit for truth, an instrument of transformation in people’s lives. Each time we broadcast a song of worship, a message of encouragement, or a testimony of God’s faithfulness, we create an opportunity for someone to encounter His presence. I have seen firsthand how a simple radio broadcast can reach into the hearts of listeners—those driving home after a long day, those struggling through a season of doubt and pain, and those seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus.
Beyond my work in broadcasting, worship has been a significant part of my life. I have had the honor of serving on worship teams across different denominations—from conservative and traditional settings to Pentecostal and charismatic gatherings. No matter the style of worship, one truth remains unchanged: worship is about intimacy with Jesus. It is about drawing near to Him, surrendering completely, and allowing His presence to transform us from the inside out.
Personal Experience
In my years, I have learned that true worship goes beyond the music, beyond the melodies and harmonies—it is a lifestyle of daily undivided, dedicated encounters with the living God. Worship is an intentional offering, a moment where we give our all to the One who gave everything for us. It is in those moments of pure devotion that we find healing, clarity, and strength to walk in our calling.
Many believers long to deepen their intimacy with Jesus but struggle to understand what true worship entails. This is why I am passionate about equipping and guiding others in their worship journey. Worship is not reserved for a Sunday service; it is a lifestyle of daily encounters with the living God. My desire is for every believer to experience the depth of connection that worship brings—to hear His voice, sense His presence, and walk in the fullness of joy that comes from abiding in Him.
